Yes. Today is June 6, 2006.

It’s an important date.
Not for the reason everyone keeps bringing up, though.
Here’s the real reason people should be talking about this date. It’s much more important than a made up excuse to create headlines based upon a numerical value that most of us probably misinterpret anyway. We need to call attention to this event much more often. After all, we’re running out of time to talk to people with first-hand experience.
It’s sad when an anniversary of a major historical event loses out to superficial hype.
