Cake-tastrophe
Last night, we decided to put Alyson’s fully decorated cake in the oven overnight. The idea was to keep it fresh. With its odd shape (it was a horseshoe cake for her “Horse” birthday party), it was difficult to get a wrapping around it (that’s what the cups were for…it was an early attempt to keep a covering off the cake…it’s a long story).
This morning, we decided we didn’t have enough cake, so another cake needed to be fixed – and fast! A certain nameless guy in our household forgot the cake was still in the oven and turned it on. A few minutes later (after seeing the smoke), he realized what he had done and (after a few choice words that probably shouldn’t be repeated on MattDanTodd Land…they weren’t that bad, but let’s not dwell on that) turned the oven off.
This is the end result.
Christy has already come up with a backup plan and it’s all taken care of.
Happy Birthday, Alyson!

Thoughts:
Your melted cake looks like a castle. A fitting tribute to Princess Aly.
Next time, freeze it. It seals in freshness and moisture and can thaw pretty quick… and doesn’t burn the house down.
I had a blast today at the park!
I’ll remember the freezer next time – I assure you!
Good times…good times…
Thanks for coming!
