I’m sorry to say, but I’m done
I have tried to support Mike Davis since his hiring as the IU coach. No more. I’m done with the excuses. I’m done with settling for “close to first place.” I’m just done. His whining to ESPN was the last straw.
Maybe if you showed the world that you knew how to coach, the fans wouldn’t have shown up wearing black. Maybe if you prepared the team a little bit, they would be able to perform against top-notch teams. You’ve recruited talent that can run with Duke and UConn, I’ll give that. You can’t say “We almost beat the two top teams in the country” as an argument for being a top-tier team. That is settling.
No more settling!
Don’t blame the students.
Don’t blame Hoosier Nation.
Don’t blame the media.
Don’t blame the Selection Committee if they leave IU out of the Big Dance again.
No more excuses, whining, or mediocrity. Lead this team like a real head coach or get out of the way for someone else. I’m done drinking the Kool Aid.

I labeled this entry “Mike Davis Haters” because it fits into the category of the others who had been arguing for his dismissal.
For the record – I do not hate Mike Davis. I do think he needs to find another job, though.
Who are you trying to kid? You are not done. Yeah Davis blows, but what can we do?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not done with the Hoosiers. I’m just done trying to defend a coach who has worn out his welcome (like his predecessor did).
Shoulda hired Bruce Pearl when they had a chance last year.
I don’t care who they hire after the season – just so long as it isn’t Alford. I haven’t heard of a fan base that liked him after he coached them.
OK I really do care, but I have no idea who they could bring on board. Anyone who had a history with IU was turned off to the Hoosiers after Brand fumbled when he mishandled the whole Knight fiasco. Should he have been fired? Yes – several years earlier. By the time it was done, it was handled poorly.
Congratulations, IU! Great way to show class!
I just found this at the Indy Star. Although it was written yesterday, I hadn’t seen it till today. Terry echoes similar feelings.
Dang, I shoulda been a sports journalist!
Woulda Coulda Shoulda man. I shoulda been a music teacher. That’s worked out great. lol
