Aaaahhhhh!

I’ll admit it. I sometimes go to blogs of biblical scholars and read what they have to say. Some of their stuff is outside the realm of academia…and I think those posts are funny. Come on – you’ve gotta admit the Jesus Junk series is so outrageous it makes you laugh (then cry then laugh some more). Most of the time, I don’t really get most of what they talk about. It’s about nuances of Hebrew or Aramaic or other things I really don’t care that much about.

But…

I’ve found myself understanding more of the posts. In fact, I get a little bit interested about some of the stuff they say. There’s the Tel Zayit inscription…and I recognized the name Kyle McCarter. Now there’s Charlesworth and the Pseudepigrapha (even the fact that I can spell Pseudepigrapha should tell you something), and I don’t even have to look at my notes to tell you who he is and what he has to do with Pseudepigrapha (yes, I just wanted to throw that in again).

So, today I went to the Codex Blogspot and saw this post. I thought the cartoon was really funny. I even wanted to forward the post to my OT and NT professors.

sniff, sniff

Do you smell that?

It’s me.

I’m beginning to smell like nerd.

Must…watch…a…movie…cough, cough…before…cough…it’s…too…late…cough
