On “Furlough”
We’re in Evansville now. Stopped at a hospital in Louisville to see a friend and his family. I’ve never seen a guy that only had half a skull. The other half was in his belly for safe keeping. No, seriously. They had the option of freezing it or sewing it into some of his abdominal fat. Once the swelling on his brain goes down, they’ll take the removed part of his skull and return it to its proper place on his head. Keeping it in his abdomen is advantageous because it allows his body to keep it warm and take care of it.
I want to know who in the world thought of that!?! It’s amazing what people come up with.
We made it to Evansville in time for dinner. It was tasty. It’s good to be back home for a while. The next few days will be filled with the busyness of the season. Early next week, I hope we’ll be able to do some “scouting” on the West Side. Going over there might help articulate the vision for future new church work in the area.

It’s nice to know that my belly fat is good for something other than making my pants too tight. Now I’m not “overweight” I’m conserving extra body fat in case my brain needs protection.
Shew! Your friend just saved me a hefty gym fee!
Church on the West Side? Preposterous!
Please call me if you and Christy want to hang out.
Silly Bob. It was his skull, not his brain that they put in his belly. I think your reading comprehension skills need some fine tuning.
