Hoosier in a strange land
I had to go to Applebee’s to watch the IU vs. Duke game. I was the only one in the place paying attention to the game. I came to realize that I’m an IU fan lost in a sea of ACC and SEC fans. At least most of the ACC fans are North Carolina fans. They tend to be literate in the basketball world. My waiter tonight was a Tar Heel fan. We had a pretty good conversation about college hoops, which was rare (but nice) – considering I live in football country.
IU looked good. Very good. Too bad they lost. After seeing their talent level, I think they have no excuses against Kentucky this year. They might not win, but they’d better not roll over like they did in far too many games last year. This is a moment Davis can build upon. The Hoosiers are good. Tonight showed that they can run with the big boys.

Football Country
With Bruce Pearl at the helm, it won’t be long before Vol fans start expressing interest in the game. Tennessee did themselves a huge favor by snatching him up.
Give him a few years and we’ll be seeing UT flags on cars in March because he’ll have his team making noise in the tournament.
