Season Begins
IU opens their basketball season tonight against Nicholls State. What is it with IU having home openers against them this year?
Speaking of basketball, Aiden had his first basketball practice Tuesday night. He said he was excited about it until we showed up for practice. The kids were already out there playing around and Aiden got scared. It took me about 20 minutes to finally get him excited enough to just go out onto the court and meet his new teammates. They had a practice on Saturday, but we were in Atlanta, so everyone else already knew each other. I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to practice shooting with him, since I don’t know of anywhere here that has an eight foot goal that is accessible to the public. I’d prefer something inside, since it got down to the teens or something here last night. Last week, I was wearing shorts. This week, it’s anything but shorts. Crazy weather!
Aiden’s first game is tomorrow morning. He’s excited. We still don’t know the team name, but we do know their team color is blue. Things are a little disorganized, but that’s OK. He’s having fun and learning some fundamentals. You can take the boy out of Indiana, but you can’t take Indiana out of the boy!

Update
OK, I guess I misunderstood. Aiden doesn’t have a basketball game on Saturday, just practice. That’s good ’cause I was starting to worry how on earth he was going to be able to survive a game because he’s still getting the hang of this whole “team” thing.
IU beat Nicholls State. Sounds like IU finally had some senior leadership. It also appears that the Hoosiers are better off without Bracey Wright. It pains me to say that, but it appears to be true.
