Inner Self
I’ve decided to sign up for Second Temple Jewish Literature next semester. You have no idea how excited I am! Really. I’ve only recently discovered the Maccabean literature and I find it very interesting. It also fits into my degree requirements, so that’s an added bonus.
I think my inner Geek has finally come into his own. He is ready to spread his wings and become my outer Geek, too.
What was that I said about becoming an elite? Maybe it’s inevitable. Only an elite would get so geeked up about Second Temple Jewish Literature.
Speaking of my experience a few days ago about using elite language, I did think of a bright spot from that evening. Christy asked me where it says in the Bible that Noah preached to his neighbors – because Genesis doesn’t explicitly say it. I knew it would be in one of two places in the New Testament. I was right. 2 Peter, if you’re really interested.
On a totally unrelated issue, IU basketball begins tonight with an exhibition game against St. Joe’s (Indiana). This is definitely a make-or-break year for Davis. Unfortunately for him and the team, Ratliff is out with some kind of injury for a while. Better be healthy for when the Dukies come to town.
ahhh…that brings back memories of the best basketball game I have ever seen. And the fact that it took place in Rupp Arena in a sea of red…
priceless!
