Old Friends

In some ways, I am excited for tomorrow to come. I’ll get to spend time with some people that I don’t get to see very often. Of course, I wish it were under more celebratory circumstances.

Speaking of old friends, I went back to Pizza Hut in Mooresville tonight for the first time since we moved to Tennessee last year. There are only four or five people still there from when I worked there. I had put the general manager down as a reference for the job a the bookstore (see previous post), but the bookstore lady said she couldn’t get ahold of him for a reference. Come to find out that he was promoted last week to area supervisor, or something like that. It would have been nice of him to tell me that when I called him two weeks ago to get permission to list him as a reference! Sue, another manager, said she’d be a reference for me. Glad to get that straightened out.

Speaking of communication issues, the SMI thing probably isn’t going to work out. If you’re on my financial support team, let me know and I’ll tell you where to send your contributions from now on. It won’t be that different for you in the long run (you’ll still get the deduction) and it will save us from future headaches.

I’m really hoping I get this job at the bookstore. I think my chances are pretty good, since I’m now in “Round 3” of the interview process. It would help lots with books for school, too. I also know that if I get this job, everyone is getting either books, CDs, or DVDs for Christmas because I’d get a pretty decent discount there. Here’s hoping I get the job!
