The van
Christy called me from work today and said, “Guess what? We get to buy a new car! The van died on me today.” I’m not about to put another dime into that box on wheels. I’ll probably have to pay someone to take it away.
Guess our tax refund will disappear quicker than we thought. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, I guess.

Disposal
Don’t you dare pay anyone to dispose of that thing. Any wrecker will take it away for you- just don’t forget which one you got to get and make sure you transfer the title. BUT, there are lots of foundations that will take your car away AND give you a tax deduction. The Kidney foundation is one, and there is something with Public radio on the Cartalk website. I think Goodwill might do this too.
Re: Disposal
Yeah, I know some foundations will take them. I don’t think Goodwill would take it in its present condition. I’ll follow the leads you’ve given me – thanks.
I really wasn’t planning on paying anyone to take it. That’s just how worthless the van has been (in my mind) for several months.
