Star Wars inspired cocktails

Blue Milk.

It’s the standard drink for any Star Wars fan. Especially when you’re a kid. OK. It looked pretty cool to me, anyway. Every time I watched that drink pour into the space-age cup, I wondered what that stuff tasted like. And you might remember that I have watched this scene over and over and over again. That’s because I watched Star Wars over and over and over again at my grandparents’ house. I really wanted to try some Blue Milk.

I’ve made my own concoction before.

Yes. That’s blue milk. #StarWarsDay #MayThe4thBeWithYou #bluemilk

And now, as an adult? Well, let’s just say that my tastes have matured. I’m much more interested in what the creatures might have been drinking in the famous Cantina scene instead of what a whiny farm boy drank at the dining room table. Catch my drift?

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no bartender. I’m kind of a novice at cocktails. But I do enjoy a good mixed drink on occasion. With all of that in mind, I’ve come up with a few Star Wars inspired drinks. I’m sure these cocktails have already been created and given other names, but like I said, I’m kind of inexperienced at the whole mixed drink scene. But I can tell you I’ve had these. And they’re pretty good if I do say so myself.

4 Star Wars inspired cocktails.

The Walking Carpet

What you need:

  • Root Beer
  • Butterscotch Schnapps

Grab yourself a mug and fill it three-fourths full with your favorite cold root beer. Add a shot of butterscotch liqueur. Perhaps this should be shared with a bandolier serving as some type of garnish.

Binary Sunrise

What you need:

  • Ice Cubes
  • Orange Juice
  • Peach Schnapps
  • Grenadine
  • 2 Mandarin Orange Slices

Pour one shot of Peach Schnapps into a glass. Fill the rest of your glass three-fourths of the way with orange juice. Mix. Add an ice cube or two. Pour in one shot of Grenadine and allow it to settle to the bottom.

Garnish with two slices of Mandarin Oranges on the rim. Click <play> on this song and gaze off into space, dreaming about going on some kind of wild space adventure.

The Bounty Hunter

The Bounty Hunter - Star Wars Inspired Cocktails #MayTheFourthBeWithYou

What you need:

  • Lemon Lime Soda
  • Peppermint Schnapps
  • Grenadine

There’s an inner coolness in this drink that fits the intestinal fortitude necessary to hunt smugglers, pirates, and scoundrels across the galaxy. I mean, you have to have an inner coolness to be able to pull off hiding in space garbage to capture your quarry. He’s also quite the intergalactic ladies’ man.

See? Calm. Cool. Collected. Just like this drink.

Simply fill a glass with Lemon Lime Soda three-quarters of the way. Add a splash of Peppermint Schnapps. Stir. Add some Grenadine and let it settle.

Sip and enjoy.

The Princess

The Princess - Star Wars inspired cocktail #MayTheFourthBeWithYou

What you need:

  • Cream Soda
  • Cinnamon Whiskey or Cinnamon Schnapps

Everyone loves the sharp-shooting, quick-witted, beautiful, and courageous Princess. So there has to be a drink for her. Right? Inspired by the most famous hairstyle in all of the galaxy, I wanted to try to make a drink that tasted like a cinnamon bun. This drink does have its moments. Not many of them, but it does have them (quoth the Princess. Kind of).

Grab your favorite coffee mug. Add a shot of Cinnamon Whiskey or Cinnamon Schapps. Fill the rest of the way with Cream Soda. Sip away while you thank the Maker for such an inspirational character.
