Walmart Family Mobile gives my growing family the data we need

We’ve been home with our new son for almost a month now, and I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised at how well things have been going. Sure, every day has its share of awkward moments, but we get through them. And we’re growing through those awkward moments as we navigate through our new normal as a family of six.

One thing that has surprised us about adding a teenage boy to our family is how much more we need of everything. The amount of laundry has increased exponentially.We go through an insane amount of milk and juice each week. And, over the last month, I think I’ve flipped more pancakes and scrambled more eggs than I did during the entire year last year. OK. I might be exaggerating just a little bit. But I think you get the point.

And that’s OK. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because he’s totally worth it. I love this kid and am amazed at how well he’s fit into our family in such a short time. We’re doing our best to keep him connected to his roots. It’s a promise we made to him and to each other.

One great way we’ve been able to keep him connected is by talking with friends who used to live with him in Ethiopia but now live here in the States. He’s had several video chats with friends around the country. He gets so excited and animated while talking with his friends in Amharic. It’s heartwarming. And it’s balm for the soul.

There’s a problem, though. The data required for his hour-long chats can add up over time. We need a plan with a robust data component in order to be able to keep up with all of this video chatting that he’ll be doing with his old friends. Fortunately, Walmart Family Mobile has the perfect plan to fit our needs.

Walmart Family Mobile has launched a new plan that gives our family exactly what we need: the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data. For only $49.88 a month, we get access to up to 10 GB of high-speed 4G LTE data for all the streaming, surfing, and video chatting we need. In addition to this great deal, you also get a free movie a month through VUDU (up to a $7 value), which you can watch on your laptop, tablet, Chromecast, SmartTV, or Roku.

There’s a good variety of phones available with this plan. A few are even available on Rollback*. Here are some of the phones that are available:

I went with the Samsung Galaxy GRAND Prime. With the Rollback price of $99, it’s a great deal, but I chose this phone for one main reason: the front-facing camera. At 5MP, the camera on this phone is one of the highest-quality front-facing cameras around. That’s great when you want to take a selfie, which I’ve been accused of doing quite a bit.

But that’s not the only reason I’m excited about the front-facing camera. The main reason is the video chatting. If Weldu is going to be spending time video chatting with old friends, it makes sense to have the best camera available for him. Right?
