That’s a lot of clothes

Clothes on a clothesline

While visiting the compound where Weldu lived before we brought him home, I was struck by how many clothes were hanging up to dry. They were hanging everywhere. It was like a web of clotheslines as you walked through the compound.

In my heart, each one of these clothes that I saw dangling on the clothesline represents a child who has been left dangling. I saw many of them face-to-face while we were there. They are children who have no family, but desperately want a family. They need a family. But because of a variety of reasons, from red tape to health concerns, these children have been left dangling.

Adoption in Ethiopia is unpredictable. It’s a roller coaster ride, to say the least. And there’s always a chance it might become even more unpredictable.

That’s why I need you to pray with me.

Please pray for these kiddos. Pray for their hearts. Pray for their safety. Pray for the people who work with them every day. It’s evident that they love these kids to pieces. Pray for their health.

Please pray for families for these kids – either in Ethiopia or in the States or in some other part of the world. They need loving families who will take them in and weave them into their families.. Pray for compassion. Pray for the bureaucrats. And pray that the Enemy is defeated, knowing that whatever he may try to do, God can use it for good.

Please pray for potential families. Pray for family reunifications. Pray for foster parents. Pray for these kids. And pray that the day comes soon where they won’t need to hang clotheslines all over the place because each and every child will be part of a family.

This request didn’t come out as well as I’d hoped. But I’m asking you to pray. Lift these kids up. God knows what needs to be done. And He’ll work in His mighty way.

Thank you.
