I don’t know what it’s like at your house, but Fall is the season of controlled chaos around here. Well, I hope it’s controlled. Our three kids are enrolled at three different schools and their events seem to be stacked on top of each other. I’m working two jobs and Christy’s job requires a lot of prep at home. Homework demands, doctor appointments, and church commitments keep us on our toes. And in our free time, we’re usually taking Aiden to and from something football related. Yes, our lives are hectic. Sometimes it even feels like Christy and I are expected to be in three different places at the same time. In the midst of our family’s hustle and bustle, we still try to make sharing a meal together a top priority. That’s why I’m glad Walmart has effortless meals that are quick and easy. They’re the perfect meal for busy families like ours.

#EffortlessMeals at Walmart Collage #adA few days ago, we had one of those typically crazy-busy days and didn’t have time to cook anything. We were going to be lucky to sit down at the table together. So I stopped by Walmart on the way home and grabbed a Rotisserie Chicken Meal. For us, that consisted of a rotisserie chicken, some macaroni salad, and a two-Liter of Diet Coke. Dinner was hot and ready to eat within minutes of getting home.

The Effortless Meals signs are a great perk of visiting Walmart when you’re in a hurry. They make it easy for you to find what to make for dinner with little effort. They also help you save time because you’ll know exactly where you can find the effortless meal you’re looking for. So you’re in and you’re out in no time flat!

Thinking ahead, I went ahead and bought a 16′ pepperoni pizza and a two-Liter of Coke. So after just a few minutes, I was in and out of Walmart with two effortless meals ready for my family to eat with minimal preparation.

On days like this one, it’s much more convenient to simply use disposable plates. So that’s what I did. The rotisserie chicken is a great choice for our family because each of us likes different parts of the chicken. Mihret is partial to legs. Christy and Aiden prefer white meat. Aly and I are fans of dark meat. So everybody’s happy when we share a rotisserie chicken because everyone gets what they want.

Their 16″ pizzas are huge. There’s plenty of slices to go around because they are chock-full of pepperoni. Not only is it topped with sliced pepperoni, but there’s also diced pepperoni underneath the cheese. Every bite is full of pepperoni goodness.Pizza Slice and Coca Cola #EffortlessMeals #ad

We always have some leftovers from these effortless meals. You know what that means? Effortless lunches. I pulled the remaining chicken meat off the bone and put it between a couple of slices of bread with a slice of cheese and some mayonnaise. That’s one lunch taken care of. And who doesn’t love leftover pizza? There were a couple of slices remaining from our pizza dinner. That makes for a perfect effortless lunch, too! They even have 6″ sandwiches that are made fresh in the store. Combine that with a bag of Kettle Brand chips and a 16 ounce bottle of Coke and you have yet another effortless meal available for lunch. Walmart’s effortless meals not only save time, and energy. They can also help you stretch your dollar.

While I was shopping for my quick, effortless meals, I also grabbed some apples, mini chocolate chips, and some marshmallows. With the peanut butter we already had, I was able to make an effortless dessert for one of our effortless meals: Apple Nachos. They’re so easy to make and they take about five minutes to prepare. They’re the perfect addition to an effortless meal.

 How to make Apple Nachos

How to Make Apple Nachos #EffortlessMeals #adWhat you’ll need:

2 apples, sliced
1/4 cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup of marshmallows

What you’ll do:

Cut apples into thin slices. I used an apple corer-slicer and then cut each slice in half.

Arrange apples on a plate.

In 15-second increments, melt peanut butter in a microwave. Stir occasionally. Don’t overcook the peanut butter. You want it creamy enough to drizzle. That’s all.

Drizzle the melted peanut butter over the sliced apples.

Add marshmallows by sprinkling them on top of the nachos.

Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the dessert.

Eat and enjoy! You’d better hurry, though. Because if your family is anything like ours, it won’t be long before the whole house descends on this dessert and essentially licks the plate clean!

The beauty of this dish is that it’s highly customizable to your family’s tastes. You can add another apple or two. You can increase or decrease the amount of toppings as you see fit. Some people add chopped nuts. Others top their Apple Nachos with shredded coconut. I know some families don’t include marshmallows. You could add any topping you choose. You can even add sliced bananas if you’re feeling adventurous. Like I said, it’s easily customized.

It’s also a fun way to eat more fruit. And who doesn’t need more fruit in their diet?
