Taking orphans seriously
We learned that orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.

November is National Adoption Month. In many church circles, this Sunday is Orphan Sunday.
I think I have a lot to say about things related to this month. I’ll probably share a few of those thoughts on this blog. But for now, I think it’s appropriate to just dwell on this quote a little bit and hopefully take orphans seriously.
