This morning’s breakfast brought to you by Eckrich

We arrived safely in Virginia at an ungodly hour yesterday morning (total trip time was 11 hours, which wasn’t unexpected). Spent yesterday checking out our new digs, making “Chicago-style” pizzas*, and swimming in one of the resort’s two pool complexes. It was a nice beginning to our vacation.

Today we’re heading to Charlottesville. In addition to taking in some history at the University of Virginia (homeschool is awesome, by the way), we’re also going to meet up with some of our best friends from Milligan. So excited to see Mike and Angie and finally meet their kids today. It’s been entirely too long since I’ve seen them.

I feel like I should highlight some great customer service before I sign off. A few weeks ago, we experienced a problem with the packaging of some Eckrich hot dogs. It was enough of a problem that we felt it was necessary to call their attention to it. They quickly responded by sending us coupons for some free Eckrich products.  So, this morning’s breakfast of pancakes and maple sausage links was brought to us, in part, by Eckrich.

Thanks, Ekrich, for the Smoky Maple Sausage

Thanks, Eckrich, for your fine customer service!

*Conversation while making the pizzas last night…
Christy: Hey, Aiden, do you know why we made Chicago-style pizza tonight?

You might not think it’s funny, but Christy and I did. Probably because we were a little sleep-deprived by then. 😀
