I was a cute Ring Bear, wasnt I?
I was a cute Ring “Bear,” wasn’t I?

I don’t remember why I was outside Wednesday night. I probably went over to the Church Office for something. But I do remember looking up in the sky and seeing stars. Suddenly, this song popped in my head. And considering the amazing news we received that day, is it really that big of a surprise that the line about sleeping underneath the same big sky has taken on a whole new meaning for me.

Yeah, the song is sappy. But it’s pretty cute, too. And the video is pretty corny. But I just can’t get this song out of my head.

And speaking of cute (because I was, after all), the accompanying picture really doesn’t have anything to do with the video or the post, except the fact that I do have to admit that I was pretty darn cute all decked out in my tuxedo. Like most Ring Bearers, I thought my title was Ring Bear. And I thought that for a long, long time although it didn’t make sense to actually call me a bear. After all, I wanted to be a lion tamer. Would have made more sense to call me the Ring Lion or Ring Tamer. But no. I was the Ring Bear.

For the record, this wedding is one of the earliest things I remember (along with going to the hospital to see my newborn brother and a very vague memory about moving. There’s much debate about where we were moving, but I’m pretty sure it was somewhere in Evansville). I remember getting a Nerf football as a gift from my aunt, and I remember winking at someone (probably Dad) during the wedding.

Oh yeah, and I remember candlelight. Lots of candlelight. And I think I danced like a rock star at the reception, but that might be another wedding that I’m thinking about.
