Major Move

I stopped posting on LiveJournal back in September. It was a difficult decision because my Journal there had been there for so long. There was history there. It was comforting.

I left because of the ads they placed on the Journal. When I registered, I did so with the understanding that there would be no ads. And not only were they advertising things (and political candidates) with which I didn’t necessarily support, but the ads are intrusive and distracting. I don’t mind smaller ads, but these were just over the top. I was concerned by the loss of creative control, so I switched.

Ever since switching to WordPress, I’ve struggled with what to do with the years of posts on LiveJournal. I tried importing them month by month, but that took too long and you lost comments when you did it that way. I recently read that LiveJournal might be on life-support and has had a massive layoff. In response, I guess there has been a massive migration from LiveJournal to WordPress. And WordPress has now made it easier to import everything, including comments, at the click of a button.

So, I have now officially imported all of my posts (including comments) to this blog. So I guess I’m going to be here a while. 🙂

There’s still some cleaning up to do on the imported posts, and I’ll do that over the next month (or so…). I also need to go back and delete the posts I had already imported. No need to have duplicates. Because thats redundant. And repeating yourself.
