Marwedisms – the Return

Dr. Shields delivered his “farewell” sermon yesterday in Chapel. It was a good sermon recalling the many lessons he learned from churches during his journey. I’m disappointed that the turnout wasn’t as large as it should have been. I don’t think many people realized this was his final sermon.

Dr. Shields has a unique sense of humor – similar to Dr. Marwede’s humor. In honor of the two, I’ve returned to posting Marwedisms (if you don’t get the term, click on the link and you’ll get the idea). Here’s one from Dr. Shields’s sermon yesterday:

“Richard Nixon announced his resignation on my birthday…I like to tell people that’s the only time I got a Ford for a birthday present.”
