Super Colts!

Indianapolis Colts Helmet

Growing up a Hoosier fan in Southern Indiana, I naturally despised the Kentucky Wildcats. It’s just in your blood. So imagine what life was like when I lived in Danville, Kentucky – a mere 45 minutes from the home of the Wildcats. Life was not too pleasant for Hoosier-boy in those days.

I grew to despise blue and white. The color combination would make my skin crawl and my stomach queasy.

Then I moved to Indianapolis. What did I see all over the place? That’s right. Blue and White. Of course, this was a team I was cheering for. I actually wanted the blue and white to win.

My natural reaction, however, was to cringe whenever I saw a blue and white flag or a person wearing a blue and white t-shirt. The UK fans screwed me up that bad.  It has taken me a while, but I am now over such aversion to blue and white.  In fact, I can now finally actually wear Colts t-shirts without feeling like I’m somehow betraying one of my core beliefs.

Now that the Colts are going to the Super Bowl – that’s right…I said the SUPER FREAKIN’ BOWL!! – it’s time to get all decked out in blue and white…and that’s true for MattDanTodd Land, too.

Although I have class tomorrow, I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to sleep.   It was a great game.  I spent the last  3:00 of the game jumping up and down at every play.  At one point, Christy thought I was going to fall through the floor!  I’m even a little hoarse.

I’m sure I’ll have more to say later.  I really need to get some shuteye.  Class is going to come much sooner than I’d like to think.
