What we’ve done (so far)

OK – I don’t want to take too much time sitting in the hotel lobby writing about our trip. There are other people waiting, but I figured I should take the few minutes to mention what we’ve done so far…

* Took a boat ride out to Ft. Sumter (the kids’ first boat ride)
* Toured the USS Yorktown (aircraft carrier), a submarine, a destroyer, and a Coast Guard cutter
* Ate the best seafood I’ve ever had at Charleston Crab Shack
* Ate at a local favorite – Bowens Island. The price was great. The fish was OK. The shrimp was amazing. The atmosphere…well…let’s just wait for the pictures, shall we?
* Ate at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co. tonight. It’s worth going to once – just so you could say you’ve been there
* Fried ourselves at the beach. That was yesterday and we’re still beet-red…except Aiden. The fairest skinned of all of us has relatively no sunburn at all. What’s up with that?

Still have to go to Isle of Palms, Banana Cabana, Waterfront Park in Charleston, the Aquarium, and the Market. Might catch a ballgame tomorrow night, if the weather allows. Talk about a whirlwind! Hey – we only go on a long trip like this once every 5 years or so. We have to make a most of it!

***CORRECTION*** I incorrectly stated that we had gone to the Charleston Crab Shack, when in reality we had gone to the Charleston Crab House on Market. I had the Seafood a la Wappoo, and Christy had the Broiled Seafood Trio. Best seafood we’ve ever had!
