Heroes

I’m not sure if there are many true-life heroes in my life. Sure, there are some. I haven’t run into too many in Tennessee yet.

Until now.

A lady in our church has terminal brain cancer. The doctors have basically told her that she will not live to see next year. She is the most passionate worshiper I’ve ever seen. Normally, I’m sitting in front of her because of my duties during the service, so I’ve never really experienced worshiping with her. Today, since I was preaching, I didn’t have to do my other tasks and sat back with my family during the singing time.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone worship God with such passion. This is a lady who is staring death in the face every day and she still pours out her sould to the Father. It surely has to be tempting to remain bitter towards God because of her illness. It is just the opposite. Her presence lifts up those around her as she lifts up the Father.

I want to have that kind of passion. I want to be that kind of person who makes much of Jesus and in my worship helps others make much of Him.
